Families for New York is Now on Substack!
Still focused on issues that matter to the people raising kids in New York...
I am excited to move my Families for New York website to Substack! Our email list has grown, and this platform will make it easier for me to manage and communicate with you all.
My focus will continue to be on issues that impact our families, particularly our kids. Education was my passport for a better life and my career even before I had my kids. I will continue investigating why New York is #1 in education spending, but in the middle of the pack regarding results for kids, school choice, and school innovation.
NYC Comptroller Brad Lander Should Do His Job…
The NYC Comptroller should focus on his underperformance with the city pensions and audit all the non-bid contracts of the Adams administration.
Instead, he is busy with farmers in India or attacking public parents like me who volunteer their time to make our schools better. His office issued a “report” with concerns about the CEC elections — the reality is that he and the far left are upset that they keep losing ground in our elections.
I will continue working to make our CEC focused on what matters to our students: merit and academics.
Better Late Than Never
NYSED finally released test scores — after the election, of course! The Empire Center said it is not helpful data because they keep changing what means “proficient” and the data is so late.
Commissioner Rosa was not happy to be criticized, and the New York Post asked for Team Trump to help solve the problems with the country's most expensive department of education.
What’s Next…
I’m excited to share even more content about education, quality of life issues, and stories straight from the families of New York. If you want to connect, please send me a note. I’ll also be hosting chats and other opportunities to connect. I look forward to keeping the conversation going!
Awesome..did you receive the paper I prepared regarding the IESP process?
